Top 5 Myths About Interviews

"Remember you should never ask any question to the interviewer"
...
ummm....wait, whatttt! But why?

Hey folks! I hope you all are doing great & having fun with your family. So when it comes to the interviews, a lot of people tend to make it a very complicated process in which interviewer is generally portrayed as a devil and you as his/her prey. This blog is just to let you know about the top 5 common myths about the interviews. These myths are applicable to almost all kinds of interviews ( technical interviews/ HR round/ etc. ), so let's see!

1. Never ask any question to the interviewer!

Seriously? Do you think it should even work that way? Are you going to get a job or some slavery agreement? An interview is a two way process in which both the interviewer and the candidate must participate. You can ask questions to your interviewer, no doubt in that, but you have to be sensible enough to ask right questions at the right time. Even many interviewers ask candidates to ask questions if they have any queries at the end of the interview and trust me saying "YES" is much much better than "NO".

After interview rounds-

Interviewer : I asked them, do you guys have any queries?
( No one asked )

2. Resume doesn't matter much after you get shortlisted!

Are you serious!!! Once you are sitting in an interview, your resume will speak for you to the interviewer even before you. The skills, experience, projects, etc. that you mentioned in your resume will be the hot topics for discussion. So, don't boast in your resume just for getting shortlisted. Be genuine, learn skills and do projects in reality before putting them up on your resume otherwise you'll have to pay the price ( varna balidaan dena hoga 😆).

3. Your communication skills must be at advanced level!

YEEES it's 200% true but only if are gonna go for a debate with Shashi Tharoor, are you?  As far as you are able to explain your approach or idea or algorithm to the interviewer, you are good to go! Problem arises when you know how an induction motor starts but you do this-

 4. Most qualified one will get the job!

It's true that your qualification matters but that never guarantees a job. Company won't sell your qualifications to the clients, it will sell the products developed by you to them. If you just have a degree with you and no actual skills, you won't survive much and most probably won't get a great job either.

5. Knowing stuffs is the only thing needed to get a job!

Naaah!! Though knowing stuff is a necessary condition to get a job but it's not sufficient. Apart from technical knowledge, some basic things are expected from you as well such as-
  • A good team player.
  • A supportive, sincere person, etc.
You might think that such qualities aren't important but once you get to work on real world projects involving teams, these qualities become an important base for the team to work properly as well as for a great organization to run smoothly.

That's it guys, I hope you enjoyed the blog and got to learn something from it. Do like and share if you found it useful to help others.

HAPPY LEARNING
